Umpqua Water Shed - A Summer Reading Program

Animal Adaptations: Discover Nature's Survival Secrets!

Every animal has a role in nature, and over time, they have developed special ways to survive. Some animals blend into their surroundings, some can smell food from far away, and others have teeth, claws, fur, feathers, or even slime that help protect them. Adaptations can include physical traits like camouflage, beak shape, fur, or body structure, as well as behaviors such as migration, hunting strategies, or communication.

At this special presentation, we will examine how adaptations help animals meet the challenges of their ecosystems and how these traits connect each species to its habitat. Special live animal ambassadors will come along for a demonstration!

Perfect for families and anyone who loves discovery. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity!
